Chop Steak

This is a new one for me.  I never really cared for this dish one way or another before.  Someone recently was describing to me their cooking schedule and this was a recurring number.  I got to thinking about it and thought it would be a good addition to my new diet requirements.

  • Chop Steak (I have tried with both Chop Sirloin and Chopped Lamb, both were great!)
  • Gravy - 1 small jar goes a long way.  I have not found a recipe that cuts the carbs enough for me to bother with making it fresh.
  • Chopped onions

I make up about 6 cuts of steak at a time with 2 onions.  This feeds the family for the night and normally have 1 serving left over for lunch the next day.

First I cook the meat in a large frying pan.  Make sure not to over do it.  They can get tough real easy.  I brown each side and scoop them onto a plate.   I then take the onions and cook them in the remaining juices in the frying pan.  When they get nice and tender I put the meat back in and pour the gravy over it all.  Put it on simmer while you get your side dish worked out.   Broccoli with cheese is my side of choice.
